About Jaipur
Jaipur (also known as Pink City) is one of the most popular tourist
destinations in India. It was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. He

Hawa Mahal

Kanak Vrindavan
- Kanak Vrindavan Garden is located at a close proximity to the
Nahargarh and Amer fort. This is 6.5 km away from Jaipur on the way to Amer
Jantar Mantar
- This heritage observatory was built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai
Singh II. This is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments.
Sisodia Rani
Garden - 5 km. on the road to Agra. The largest
and the most famous amongst these is a heritage garden built by Sawai Jai Singh
II for his Sisodia Queen - The Sisodia Rani-ka-Bagh.
City Palace - This heritage
palace is situated in the heart of the old City. The palace is a blend of Rajput
and Mughal architecture
Ishwar Lat
- This heritage structure is the highest tower dominating the skyline
on the western side of the Tripolia baazar
Jalmahal - On
the way to Amer, this small heritage palace is set in the middle of Man Sagar
Lake. Surrounded by Nahargarh Hills, Jal Mahal is known for its majestic
architecture and sophisticated design.
Gaitor -Situated
15 km. from Jaipur, Gaitor is a historical place, popular for
the heritage cenotaphs or chhatris of Jaipur rulers.
Jaigarh Fort
- This heritage fort is also known as the 'Victory Fort', located at a
comfortable distance of 15km from Jaipur. The world’s biggest cannon on wheels-
the Jai Ban is positioned here.
Nahargarh Fort

This fort is 15 km. away from Jaipur cresting a hill about 600 ft. above the
city, the fort was built in 1734.
Central Museum - It is located in
the Ramnivas Gardens and is the oldest museum in Jaipur.
Dolls Museum - This heritage
museum is located on Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, near the Police Memorial. The
collection here includes dolls wearing traditional costumes from around the
world. Pretty dolls from various countries are on display in the compound of the
school for deaf and dumb children.
Birla Planetarium - This is
situated at the BM Birla Science and Technology Center, near Statue Circle.
Galta - Galta is
a pretty little pilgrim spot located just beyond Sisodia Rani-ka Bagh on Agra
Road at a distance of 10 km. from Jaipur.
Moti Doongari
- A favorite hot spot of the tourist folk, Moti Doongri is famous for
its heritage swanky palace. Since this is a private property of the royal family
public are not allowed to go inside the palace.
Laxmi Narayan Temple
- is situated just below the Moti doongri, known for the intricate
marble carvings in white marble, popularly known as Birla Temple.
Maharani Ki Chhatri - Maharani
ki Chhatri is a special heritage funeral area for the maharanis or the royal
ladies of Jaipur. It is located on the Amber Road (National Highway 8) just
before the Ramgarh road crossing near the Jal Mahal.
Vidhyadhar Garden

Nestled in a narrow valley, this beautiful garden was built in honor of Jai
Singh's chief Vidyadhar Bhattacharjee-the architect and town planner. This is 5
km. away from Jaipur on the way to Agra.
